What we believe
While the Spurgeon Blog contains the thoughts and opinions of the author, the Holy Bible is the standard that this blog will follow. Subordinate to the bible, the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith will be used to offer commentary and clarity in any discussions that are in need thereof. The great confessions of the faith are not scripture, and do not carry with them the authority of scripture. They are commentaries and concise summaries of the doctrines contained in scripture, and to the extent that they accurately interpret the Word of God, they are useful for teaching, direction, and the settlement of disputes.
